CONNECT
The entire design community will be in Denver for the HOW Design Conference, In-HOWse Designer Conference and Creative Freelancer Conference, making this a valuable opportunity to connect with other designers, build lasting professional relationships and make contacts that will change your work, life and career.

We've built plenty of time into the program for you to network with fellow attendees, speakers and, of course, the vendors in the Resource Center.

But don't let any opportunity pass you by—polish your elevator speech by practicing it in the hotel elevator (where else!), make dinner plans with the folks you meet at the Networking Kickoff or hold forth on a topic of your choice during Wednesday's Breakfast Roundtables.

Meet Debbie Millman. She's the president of the design division at Sterling Brands, president of the AIGA and an extremely popular HOW Conference speaker. She's also the host of the first weekly radio talk show about design, "Design Matters with Debbie Millman" (check it out here), and just filmed the Design Matters TV pilot with Hillman Curtis.

Her third book Look Both Ways: Illustrated Essays on the Intersection of Life and Design was published in 2009 by HOW Books; find it here.

This year at the HOW Conference, Debbie's using her more than 25 years of experience in the design industry—including redesigns of the global brands for Pepsi, Procter & Gamble, Hershey and Hasbro—to talk about why we brand and why we buy. Get the full scoop on her session.

FEATUREDSESSION
How to Sell Your Ideas to Bosses, Clients and Other Decision Makers
Presented by Sam Harrison

It's one thing to have great ideas. In fact, it's a major component of your job. But to see those ideas through to fruition, you need to be able to sell them to the decision makers, i.e. your teammates, boss and clients.

In his HOW Conference session on Monday, June 7, How to Sell Your Ideas to Bosses, Clients and Other Decision Makers, Sam will help you connect with decision makers, building both chemistry and credibility. You'll learn how to develop pitches and presentations that directly address potential objections before anyone even has the chance to voice them. Don't sell your ideas short—check out Sam's session today!
